FAQ
Greenhouse PVC Film Frequently Asked Questions
Practical answers for greenhouse builders, distributors, growers and OEM fabricators comparing PVC film suppliers.
What is greenhouse PVC film used for?
Greenhouse PVC film is used for transparent or translucent greenhouse roofs, sidewalls, roll-up curtains, windows, nursery covers, garden tunnels and fabricated agricultural protection panels where flexibility, weather protection and light transmission are required.
Is PVC film suitable for an entire greenhouse roof?
It can be, but the correct material depends on greenhouse design, span, fastening system, wind exposure, climate and expected service cycle. Thin commodity greenhouse films and heavier PVC transparent sheet are not interchangeable. For very large lightweight roof skins, buyers should also compare PE or PO greenhouse films before final selection.
Can greenhouse PVC film be UV resistant and anti-fog?
Yes. UV-stabilized, anti-aging and anti-fog / anti-condensation directions can be discussed for greenhouse projects. The target performance should be confirmed against local sunlight intensity, humidity, crop environment and cleaning or chemical exposure.
What thickness of PVC film should I choose for a greenhouse?
Thickness should be selected together with panel size, wind exposure, support spacing, fastening method and service expectation. Lighter film may suit seasonal or protected applications, while thicker clear PVC sheet or reinforced structures may be preferred for sidewalls, windows, repeated handling or more demanding projects.
Can Der factory make custom rolls or finished greenhouse panels?
Yes. Der factory can discuss custom thickness, width, roll length, transparency, softness, functional additives, cut sizes, welded panels, reinforced edges and OEM packing according to the order and application.
Is greenhouse PVC film the same as PE greenhouse film?
No. PVC and PE are different polymers with different handling, welding, flexibility, optical and cost characteristics. PE is common for large lightweight greenhouse skins, while PVC can be attractive for clear flexible panels, sidewalls, windows and custom fabricated greenhouse components.
Does anti-condensation film eliminate all greenhouse dripping?
No film treatment can compensate for every installation or climate condition. Anti-condensation chemistry can help water spread into a film rather than form larger droplets, but roof slope, orientation, humidity, ventilation, dirt and chemical residues also affect field performance.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Send the greenhouse application, roof or sidewall position, required thickness or target durability, roll or finished panel dimensions, clarity requirement, UV and anti-condensation needs, processing method, quantity, destination country and any requested test documents.
